I think you hit the nail on the head with regard to vibration. its probably more critical in a Morgan where the cars do tend to bounce around a fair bit. Perhaps the old fashioned method of screws on terminals is not such a bad idea. Of course it's less time consuming to have push in contacts when building a car. On the other hand it's much easier to change a component if required.
The bubbling problems could be caused by a multitude of reasons including reactions to different type of metal. It's interesting that on a boat you have a sacrificial anode on the hull to stop corrosion. This I understand is caused by electron reactions. Not sure an Aero would look quite right with an anode trailing behind the car.
