As posted last week I decided to experiment with a rear mudguard for the M3W
I bought a plastic trailer mudguard for a 15" wheel - a full radius type (rather than half a hexagon type)
Taking off the ally plate the "new" guard was fitted using the same fixing holes and bolts. The guard fitted in a perfect radius round the wheel and met the rear chassis bang on the base area - fixed with two Hex head wood screws to the ash.
Its works a treat - as the test drive yesterday demonstrated.
U just need a slight mod round the drive belt area and to allow
for suspension travel.
This will stop the seat belt issue - forces road debris/water etc downwards, not into the transmission area and stops debris being thrown up into the covered boot area.
so bingo! An easy mod - which could be simply reversed to original if necessary.
