http://www.blackcircles.com/ have a system where you can key in the tyre size you want and you see a good comparison of what is available in the UK. The new European tyre rating system allows you to compare fuel economy, grip in the wet and noise generated by the tyres. The ratings are self assesments from the tyre companies but they are better than nothing. I think if a rating was found to be far off the mark there would be an outcry. In addition users can post their comments and rating assesments.
