The mirror stem is spring loaded into the mirror base. If you pull it towards the back of the car you can rotate the mirror closer to the door (side screen). You can then adjust it for a rear view. It is not the best as it is inside the line of the mudguards so you have to get used to the view but at least you can see the passenger side with it.
