My vinyl top is a b***** to put up when cold. Had to leave it in the central heating for a couple of days and then stretch it before fitting.
The tensioners are a god send, I have them fantastic, but if the hood has been of for time and cold, take it inside and stick it next to a radiator or electric fan heater till warm then fit quick.
