Mine really started at CLM with rain spotted paintwork and despite trying some of the remedies suggested on here, I couldn't shift them.
So it was going to be a bonnet and cowl repaint, but then I thought that I may as well do the wings as well. With the wings off and the bulkhead looking a bit tatty, I stripped that as well and everything went off to be painted.
I will get the car back in early January for reassembly, but as I've also got replacement metal sprayed manifolds to fit I may as well take the heads off (apparently the 14 stud V8 heads can start to blow after 50/60,000 miles, so I might as well check them).
With the wings off I also want to clean and repaint the front cruciform and refresh the front suspension. Intend to leave the brakes alone, although stainless flexible hoses would probably be worth doing whilst it's all easy to access.
Should keep me out of the way for a week or two!
