Regrettably, as I understand it, you're worse off by having responded. My understanding is your number is now worth more as you may be interested in claiming and will be sold on as a 'hot prospect'.

I was aware of this. But I could not make a complaint to the ICO, until I had got the company behind the calls. I was getting almost one call a day anyway! So at least now I have someone to 'discuss' my issue with.

Case against PPI company won. I spoke to someone at the The Claims Management Regulator, at the
Justice Office earlier, and they encourged people to report any incidents to the ICO. Of course without the number you are screwed.
One other thing I have done is registered
here , I've no idea if this actually works or not, or they are just going to sell my number on...
