Chaps, this is hugely embarrassing and was particularly so on the phone to my pal's father yesterday evening, but he is still with us (Dave, G4FUS, that is).
OK, he's on finals, but is out of intensive care in Yeovil. Macmillan Nurses are trying to find a home in/near Clevedon (where his house is) where he can be well looked after. Apart from getting out of ICU, and although delirious at times, still managed to ask his Dad to bring in a beer or two (that's the Dave I know). So, I'm hoping to get at least one more chance to 'swing the lamp'.
Thankfully, the card we sent to his Dad was a "thinking of you" type card and not "sorry for your loss"
Meanwhile, his brother who phoned at 06:30 Sunday morning, from Kiwi where he now resides, will get a poke in the eye when he gets back to visit UK later this year, for making me and I know not how many others believe that Dave had passed on.
