Further to my previous posting and the advice given, I have checked the battery and ring gear, both ok. Since then I have tried it with fully charged batteries with the same result, at the first crank everything turns over ok fuel pump lifts fuel etc. On second crank, which used to fire it up, the bendix is jamming in. I have taken the starter out 3 times and checked and greased the gear etc to no avail, it jams again on trying to turn it over. Power seems to be getting down from the solenoid to the starter ok. When the starter is stuck and you turn the ignition there is a loud click from the starter and you have to remove it from the engine to free it as rocking the car and tapping with blunt instrument does not free it. Any clues out there? if I pull any more hair out I'll be bald. HEEEEELLLLP!
