There are some very humbling stories on this thread; some I know and some are new to me. To those who have shared new stories, and to the friends who have reminded me of theirs, thank you.
As much as this thread should be a reminder of our mortality, I am also inclined to feel the real power is to celebrate life and the power of human spirit.
