The manufacturer’s advice is not to exceed the weight marked on jack as this would cause the shear pin to give way. So let me think back to my original feasibility study - that’s four jacks each capable of lifting 3000kg, lifting a car weighing approx 1200kg - hummm!! No better not bother - its way too close to the limit...
Each jack is bolted to garage floor and mast bracketed back to wall. Both cross beams are safety pinned to jack lugs and vehicle is lifted on chassis rails, as advised by handbook. Jack lugs are at 90 degrees to cross beam, so there’s no increase to leverage beyond intended use, so unless the box section bends in two or my welding gives way the car is safe as houses. Bring your prams over and I’ll prove it...
