A year ago I wanted a car to tinker with (for work reasons I am in a rented house and cannot therefore do anything to it!).
I ended up with a Morgan in much better condition that I expected to get. Everything worked, it just needed care/loving.
One year on there is always a little project to do, something to tinker with, or currently repair! I veiw it all as fun so it is not a chore and I learn with each job or project and also learn more about the car. This is the first time I have done anything like this and I am really enjying it.
My advice is to get a good car and you will be amazed what you CAN do and not HAVE to do. This means you can also enjoy the trips out just as much.
