Mine don't (2005 reg 4/4, same instruments).
Has it got damp (or even over-humid) at some time? I would imagine that once a little moisture is inside an instrument it could well take some time to clear completely, as it is an almost-closed space. Especially when the ambient temp is low.
A little warmth over a period of time might help to drive that moisture out. How about setting up a battery charger, then leaving the instrument lights on for several days (I think this would need the ignition left on)?
