In the Morgan handbook it says use wax and not polish. I queried this with Morgans and they confirmed that polishes contain a fine cutting agent which removes paint from the finer edges on the Morgan. This is borne out by my friends +8, which had to go back to the factory because the paint had worn down to the primer on the louvre edges on the bonnet.
The paint is thin on the edge and you inevitably put more pressure on these fine areas.
I do however, polish the main areas avoiding edges, then wax
the whole car. When the wax goes the polish takes over until I can be bothered to wax again.
I use Autoglym wax that seemed very expensive at the time, but I have used it a lot and the pot is still nearly full.
