I suspect the disparity in tyre life is partly to do with the bump steer issue as smooth roads, the tracking will stay set, but on a bump, the tracking dynamically alters. The other issue is the base setting of tracking. It would appear there is quite some difference in the figures of different cars.

Changing to a softer bike tyre will only make the issue worse. Address the root cause before messing with tyres is my opinion.
