Hello folks,
Well, first off, I don't own a Morgan... Nor have I had the luxury of even driving/riding in one. I hope to remedy all of the above in years to come; hopefully sooner than later. I'm a 24 year young chap from Central California. My love of European cars has never been deterred despite being surrounded by lovely hot rods (e.g. my uncle owns a local hot rod shop -
Double Z Hot Rods). I currently drive a '96 Jag XJS roadster (with an AJ16 straight-six engine), and have also owned a '73 Mercedes 450 SL and a '76 XJS with a 350/350 Chevy conversion. All of the above have been daily drivers.
I'd call myself a Jaguar buff, but I have always been passionately excited by Morgan cars. I first learned of them from reading about vintage trikes being raced at Buttonwillow Raceway here in California. Alas, I still haven't actually gone to see any of those beauts on the track! I have a suspicion some of that crowd may actually frequent this forum... If so, I'd love to know of any locals!
Just about everything about Morgans, from their nostalgic designs to the fact that they're entirely hand-built, as well as their lovely balance of performance and economy, is attractive to me. I'd have to say my favorite current model is the 3.7 Roadster. Seems like the right amount of grunt coupled with practical pacing - I'd die for an opportunity to drive one! Have lots of lovely student loans to pay off before I can go down that road, though...
I look forward very much to spending more time on the forum and learning more about Morgans from other enthusiasts and owners alike. Cheers from California!
