I'm getting a good bit ahead of the project here, but something that's come to mind on my '66 +4 "MogRod" project is that I know the original radiator won't be a satisfactory cooling setup for the Ecotec motor.
Now, I've already got info for a company here in California that makes radiators which can and has done retrofitted Morgan radiators, but I just wanted to wonder aloud as to whether there's any companies out there that make either replica shells or completely upgraded radiators that will work with a classic +4. I don't want to "upgrade" the original as I'm trying to avoid doing anything like that to parts that could be used to eventually rebuild to factory spec.
Alternatively... anyone have any leads on a classic-style radiator that is physically in good shape but mechanically is in need of repairs, I can always go for the "rebuild this busted one" option.
You have a highly specific set of criteria here, and without more info I wouldn't like to make a detailed comment. I certainly don't think it is as simple as re-coring an existing Morgan radiator. Why not- in the first instance, contact peter Mulberry ( he advertises in most if not all issues of Miscellany) and ask him for some comments? Failing that, Staeside seems well blessed with amazingly talented fabricators, ( even if one only considers the guys who have put Short block Vee 8 Chevs engines into Morgans so provided you can work out things such as flow, capacity, cooling efficiency requirement ( BTUs etc) maybe that would be another angle?
