Indeed it is good news on the whistle.
As for the hood, well as several on here can attest, my canvas one on RTA took ages. Though once it's been on for a day or so isn't too bad. I think the shortest time I managed was just under 10 minutes, bearing in mind the old bench seat won't accomodate hood swivels, unless they are of a flat type (for those you'll have to see the ones Frank Orford made to fit his recently restored 4 seater).
Not sure how long my new car will take - it has a "Neverflex" hood, which still appears to have the chalk marks from the factory. I guess it has been fitted at some stage as hood swivels are also fitted.
Certainly the sidescreen probably haven't been on the car since 1998 (the date of The Times newspaper they are wrapped in!).
