Have you ever considered an Ultimata GT for that track day occasion, which you missed. I nearly purchased a fully loaded one 10 years ago factory built and FIA race ready, a snip at £48K and 212mph,
put an end to that one in no uncertain terms. Threre's a nice yellow one for sale up North, plus you can get wind in your hair as it has no roof.
PS I think the Corvette is lovely, a mate of mine had a 71 pearlescent midnight blue rag top, with cream interior and roof in 77, just awesome.
