I'm very much getting the impression that this delay from Morgan is not unusual! I took my car to a dealer the other day because the bevel box noises are getting worse, not only the whine, which is really bad at cruising speed, but more importantly a mechanical 'knocking' sound, like something coming loose, which I did not like the sound of.
They very much gave me the feeling that they are used to not getting a reply from the factory for several weeks for this sort of thing. I'm not really sure why this should be, too much work and not enough staff, or just plain inefficient? Maybe something else, but I would like to see an improvement. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for the dealer to get the go ahead to change my box, if they do change it at all.
You would think each dealership would be stockpiled with parts to prevent this from happening. This seems like an easy fix for Morgan to do instead of waiting till a problem arises and sending only that part to the dealer. Maybe its the dealers responsibility to start stocking the parts and havent yet.
