Is the last reply aimed at 4 wheeled cars?
It's best to lift the rear end up using jacks on both sides. A jack with a soft contact can be placed on the short chassis tube just behind the seats and near the side of the car. I would not do it myself without a jack on each side and gradually wind each up.
