If the ignal is correct the rev-counter is maybe defect. It is an easy diy job to get it out. Maybe another revcounter could be attached to cable. If the alternative counter shows the right numbers you know what is defect. A parcel to Britain is maybe cheaper than a new rev counter.
In Germany there are some instrument service Company which repairs this stuff. One is nearby in Osnabrück which is not so far from the Netherlands like Britain.
