I have some mechanical problems with the 1999 Morgan +4 and maybe you can help me .
On Monday 30 had a problem to start the car . The car stopped until October 8, and we started the car again and it took three attempts to get it as despite the battery indicator was correct. On the 11th I picked it up in the workshop and it took me five or six tries to boot up the car , I had a drive of about 30 kms with no problems and parked the car in my garage. This morning (october 12) I took nine or ten attempts to start the car, but then gave a walk of about 40 kms without problems . In the afternoon I have tried again to start the car and I made another nine or ten attempts , finally has started, but there is a new problem: it is that when I stop pressing the accelerator , even up, the tachometer drops to zero and the engine stops . I drive for 80 kms and every time that I not accelerate the engine stops, even if the car is running.
As you see there are two problems, the first when we start and the other that turns off the engine when not accelerated . the first problem has since the car arrived (15 days ago)the second is form this afternoon .
I don´t know because I am not very expert on mechanics, but I think when I turn the key the bump does not work, and finnally, after several attemps the bump works and and the engine starts. I have no idea about the engine stops when I don´t push the throttle.
I would be very gratefull if you could help me telling any idea about both problems.
