I have the diagnosis of the cars problem and it is this.
Because of water ingress (presumably over time)the fuel pump has burnt out along with the connector.
A question: where do you buy your fuel? Water in fuel is an ever present and increasing problem. No brand supermarket fuel is one of the worst offenders, but old small filling stations are just as bad.
I always buy fuel from a branded outlet and one that is busy. That way the fuel is fresh and the costly additives they use are better at keeping moisture in suspension than letting it settle out.
A final comment is that Morgans have a steel tank, unlike most modern cars where plastic us used. Water sitting in the bottom of a steel tank settles to the bottom and causes corrosion, the goo plays havoc with the pump. You commented you purchased "low mileage" car: such cars have often sat with a virtually empty tank. Sadly this makes things worse. A fuel tank should always be left about 3/4 full.
