Yes the boss kit and horn push are extras. They are worth it in my opinion.
I went for a standard steering wheel.

If you prefer the look of the wooden wheels note that they do a walnut steering wheel which has a fatter rim, but no rivets. As you say choices.

When you come to changing over another tip is to leave the main nut on a couple of turns on the steering column so that when you pull it off it comes loose but does not hit you in the face.
