Actually, sorry, not going to post it as VIN is what the Tracker people use for transfers; don't want someone claiming to have bought the car, supplying the VIN and then disabling the Tracker so that they can make off with it!
Harry, I would never recommend positing your VIN number on any internet site; however, the build number isn't the VIN. Yes, it is featured as part of the VIN but you'd still need to know the other 7+ characters to have the entire number.
As most VINs are now visible throught the front window of a car, you have more chance of someone getting the VIN when your car is parked in any public place.
As for Tracker - surely you have to provide proof of ownership before they will reassign the Tracker?
