Is a wire wheel from a Roadster?

The answer?
With tyre is 18.2kg.
So the 5 of them are close to 100kg.
The normal regular MWS 6.5x15 black spoke wheel which is fitted on the Roadster Sport from 2010 weights 8.5 Kg only!

Recently my Morgan Garage has weighted the spoke wheel hubs in comparison to the 5 bolt hubs used with the Morgan alloys. In fact, the spline hub for centre lock weights 2,5 Kg with the bearing included!
They had a 5 bolt hub on hand to weight without the bearing. Even without the bearing it weights 4 Kg.
I'm wondering why not few people think, the spline hubs would be heavier. Ok you can save weight on the nut, the three eared nut is 1 kg (two eared about 750 gramm, hexa about 600 gramm.)
To summarise a regular MWS 6.5x15 black spoke wheel with the hub (plus a hexagon nut) weights about 11,6 Kg.
Alloy (7Kg) plus hub with bearing included (5Kg?) plus nuts should be around 13 Kg+. And a higher rotating mass must be added due to the bolt circle of the hub.
Of course the alloys provide better control leading the rubber. But the overall weight value for a spoke wheel including hubs is not too bad.
I guess the selection of a nice propper (light and cool) tyre could help a lot concerning the weight of the tyre counts significantly - fitted on the outer circle of the wheel.
