My view on helmets comes from an engrained risk assessment mentality working in Oil and Gas. If I am just tootling around at lower speeds on side roads I guess I take a risk by not wearing the helmet and it is not mandatory. No eye protection I would consider foolhardy, the eye is a sensitive piece of kit. If I am on fast A roads or motorway I like the helmet on. I wear a Caberg Riviera, it is so practical with aviator twin visors. Lovely on a cool morning and great when it rains.
