I have bike licence. I'd no intention of riding but a friend said his Dad has this old moped a 1968 Peugeot BB was I interested. Asked a bloke at work who was into old bike he said it was maybe worth 50 quid. I went to look at it, we pulled it out of the shed, the engine turned over the tyres stayed up so I paid & loaded it in the car. It took under an hour to get it running.
I arranged MOT tax & insurance & did CBT for my protection though not necessary. The BB was a proper moped you pedalled to start it. It had a magneto which generated enough ziggys to run lights or sound the horn but not both together. It was fun.
Had the BB for 2 years then bought a new Peugeot Ludix Classic for 850 pounds. The appeal was that it was absolutely basic like an M3W. One mirror, dipped beam only, kick start. Had it for 18months
Saw a Piaggio MP3 in the paper so went to look & had to have one. Not having a bike licence could only ride 125 & had to do CBT again. Had it two years & it was recovered twice but great fun. Used to get lots of folk looking at it. I'm really too tall for an MP3 so its not comfortable for over 40 miles
After passing my test I swapped it for an MP3 400ie. Only failure was dip switch & battery in 4 years. I traded it in with Revolutions of Perth for the M3W. They still have it if you want one. I swapped 3 wheels for 3 wheels.
