I almost went with the same steering wheel you now have, however I too was concerned about the diameter but not for the same reason, I was worried about the getting in and out clearance
, so I ordered the Brooklands steering wheel.
As for the squeaks and rattles, they seem to be part of the charm of hand built automobiles when new; however with diligence and patience you will work them out.
In addition I have found that with a passenger
[Mrs. Spirit] they seem to be drowned out by another type of noise.
