It takes a little time to get used to it. I quit, a little early, two years ago and closed my consultant business. I hesitated, but now, no regrets. However I think you need routines even as retired person. I have lot to do ith the Mog, I go to the gym three days a week at 0700, I work amateur radio, I play golf and I have four grandchildren to entertain. My ife refuse to stop working as she loves her wok as a teacher otherwise we could go on long stays for golf. However, she never complains when I go with my goldmates for a week of golf in Spain. Life is good as klong you are healyhy and even better ig you happen to be wealthy, which I am not.
Use the rest of your life as best as you can. If itīs work, do so, if itīs something else, choose it!
