I'm in the process of rebuilding/cleaning the braking system of my 1960 as I wait for the folks over in Malvern to turn out a new interior for me. For the past week I've been fiddling with the front calipers. Had them sandblasted and cleaned them out with plenty of brake cleaner, I also went over the piston seal recess in the caliper with a wire wheel on my dremel. Put new seals in and for the life of me I can't get the pistons back into the calipers.

I've lubed the seals and the pistons with brake fluid. I've frozen the pistons, and I've tried using a C-clamp and an old pad to push the pistons back in but they won't go any further than the new rubber seals. I don't know where to turn next, and on other calipers I've serviced I havn't had to push this hard to get those suckers in!

Calipers are looking pretty swanky though!
