Bit windy last night and about midnight the power went out.
Woke up to a quiet and power free world.
Went down, went outside, lit the BBQ to get breakfast. Thank goodness for gas BBQs with an auxillary gas ring for the kettle. Not reccomended in December but at least it wasn't cold or wet....
Wondered about aimlessly until lunch: BBQ again. I'm not impressed with all this work. Thought about getting the Morgan out. Remembered the garage door is an electric roller shutter and opening by hand is hard work.
About 2.30pm the power returns. Turn everything back on, re-boot the server and all the other network bits and 2 pcs as they hadn't been properly shutdown they were behaving badly.
Eventually got internet access...Discover I wasn't alone, 100,000 or so without power in Southern England. Trans to the South West and Gatwick chaotic. Amazingly Heathrow worked.
Christmas Day tomorrow. All the food prep that should have been done today is behind schedule. Makes you realise just how dependant we are. Very pleased that we are not going anywhere, could have been waiting at Gatwick, or somewhere.
All this really brings out the "bah Humbug" that lurks deep inside of me. Why do people make so much fuss?
