The height depends on spare wheel width - because the centre fitting is at the hub centre. You will get an idea by looking at the height relative to the centre brake light. But sidescreen stowage lifts the rack by two or three inches, so your luggage will be higher.
It's not a problem, even with the big plastic Tourista suitcase, you can still see over the top.
