Putting my extremely cynical head on for a moment, putting it onto the air cleaner cover would somehow seem odd I think.
Perhaps the diameter should be almost the height of the front number/registration backing plate? That way, the option to fit either centrally (on the plate if none used) or centrally above the plate. Further options would then be at either end of the plate.
I have a kind of rally plaque shape behind the number plate in my minds eye to fix it to.
Just a thought...not that it matters because MINE IS A
MKII 2014 Model..when they get around to screwing it together...and you won't want to talk to me..
