I have a classic story about smoke.
Many moons ago, myself and MrsW were watching a late night horror - American Werewolf in London.
It gets quite atmospheric when the scenes are on the moors with dense fog. In fact I turned to MrsW and commented that it was such a good film that it felt like the fog was in the room with us............
Then I saw the smoke coming under the kitchen door.........
What had happened was that MrsW had decided to boil and bleach the dishcloth in a pan on the gas ring, and had forgotton about it. The pan had boiled dry and the dishcloth had gone black and was generating vast amounts of smoke. Thankfully once we opened all the windows to vent the air, there was no other damage.
