Andy,

My understanding is that the service should cost between £400-500 (GBP). Length of time the dealer will want the car will vary but the service should take no more than 1-day; however, they may ask you to leave the car for longer to give them a buffer to order new parts should your Plus 8 need them and/or the job before you runs over.

What is included will vary slightly from dealer to dealer; however, as a base they should cover most, if not all, of the following: -

Check all the fluid levels (including diff)
Change oil and filters
Inspect the engine for any issues (leaks)
Check coolant
Check brakes and replace fluid (recommended change every 2-3 years)
Check the ignition timing on older cars (reset base idle if needed) - later Plus 8s there is no need due to electronic ignition
Check the car over - especially underside - for any loose or lost nut/bolts.

I'd say that is a good start; however, like a physical for a person, you can be as quick or as thorough as you want/deem necessary. If you are speaking with two dealers, why not ask them to review with you what you are getting for your money? smile
