That's not quite what JC himself says in his video post apology on social media John.
I think he said something like "... if you turn the volume up really loud and listen very carefully you can hear me mumble an inappropriate word that I was trying to ensure wasn't heard..." and that "... I subsequently asked that the particular edit didn't go out..."
IMHO all a bit too close to the wind; another BBC celebrity thinking it is clever to push the boundaries and being beyond reproach (think Russell Brand, Jonathan Ross, etc.)
