If its any help I run a set up with a Sony head unit with a Hi-Band remote column mounted, boot mounted 10 disc changer, 2 pairs of 4” 3 ways up front (I kept one pair of the original VDO’s mounted in the foot well as these seem to offer reasonable mid range, but upgraded the door mounted to Pioneer, better top end), a pair of Pioneer 6x9” 3 way mounted behind the seats, a Pioneer amp to run the 6x9” & to top it off a Pioneer active sub unit. The changer, Amp & Sub are mounted in the boot.
All works well, & the sound is as good as you could get with out spending a fortune, like others have said though, the best sound does come from the rear mounted stainless speakers!!
