When I bought my Max, I fitted tyre pressure sensors/transmitters purchased from TyrePal in the UK (
www.tyrepal.co.uk), model #TD1000, which has now been superseded. These simply replaced the valve caps on the tyres and there is a small receiver which I leave in the car.
It's very reliable and doesn't go off every few mins to give me that headache...
