It will be interesting to hear the factory response on this.
We took the fill plug out and it was full of oil although also full of ground up pieces of metal. The box has not been opened because the dealer is expecting Morgan to ask for it back for analysis at the factory. Alas no factory response yet.
Also, thank you, everyone for your comments. Not being a gear head I learn much from your analysis and appreciate your concern on how this could have ended up.
