... had similar experience when trying to remove the seats. I have a pit in my garage but like you I've not only too short legs but too short arms and no twin elbows to get the nuts off while holding the spanner underneath the car. My wife wasn't around so the duct tape did the job. Had success getting off one bolt & nut only to learn that I had a decent mix of imperial and metric nuts & bolts. And it all started when swmbo asked to clean the carpets thoroughly - I never dreamed that the carpets are bolted on - an engineering highlight
