Not that it's a big difference in torque pulses, but Liberty only used the Harley "B" motors with the internal counterbalance shafts to smooth the motor.

In new Harley Softail bikes, the motor is mounted rigidly to the frame and all Softails use the "B" motors.

The "A" motors like mine have to be rubber mounted in the frame to isolate the vibration.

I'm thinking Liberty used a comp of some sort, but the motors were probably not larger than 96", unlike the S&S 120" motors.
