I think the SlingShot is ugly as hell...but put a deposit on an SL today.

The SL has bigger wheels (20" rear, 18" front) and they are forged compared to the cast for the base model. Stereo, Bluetooth, rear-view camera, shield, etc. In a video I saw, they indicated that the traction/stability control can be turned off unlike the CanAm Spyder. Rumor has it that you can pull a solid G in it in the corners...which many drivers of anything don't have the nerve to do...wide stance on the front-end and I expect a firm suspension. It also has tilt steering wheel and electric-assist steering (like the new Vettes).

Our local shop just got an allocation for three SlingShots...they planned to keep one for a demo but as of today, all three have deposits on them. They anticipate deliver in October. Top model out-the-door was equal to 1/2 a M3W which will make it even easier to flog.

In the appearance department, it's no M3W but in the performance department, it's no M3W either. It looks like it can get the job done and is made to drive in anger. I'm not big into the futuristic look but I look forward to having a reverse 3W that can stand a little shining of the ass. I'm looking at it much like I did the M3W before I took delivery...I think Polaris can deliver (base on the performance of my Indian). Good, bad or indifferent, I look forward to providing a comparison. The M3W is staying here...because I'm not going to be outdone by a mechanic device and it has sex appeal.

After owning a Spyder RS, a M3W and a SlingShot, I'll be plotting a three point curve pretty soon.
