Most other manufacturers offer them. It is a profit generating activity.
Not if they know they're going to have to replace maybe half the frames, BB's, and possible suspension work too.
You're right, on a "normal" bike or car, it's a safe bet for them to offer the INSURANCE policy with a deductible of course.
