As guests of the Monklands Sporting Car Club, Russell Paterson Morgan invited some customers along to a track night at Knockhill last week. There were probably 6 roadsters there.

BUT WHAT A BLAST!

I would have never normally thought about tracking my beloved Plus 8, but wow, I was amazed by the levels of grip on the albeit dry track.

First time round, Russell drove my car, fast, to really get a feel for how she was performing. I was pleased to hear that he thinks she is well sorted etc. Then came a few laps of instruction from Russell and from Barry (the Monklands Club organiser). I learned a great deal and most of all had a great evening out for £60!

I would encourage everyone to get onto a track night with like minded individuals. I.E. Not hot hatch idiots, but people that aren't likely to crash into you. No-one tried to overtake on a corner and I often had a hot Mini or a Ferrari 430 up my chuff!

Anyway, I'm off to buy a helmet and some brake upgrades. I've totally got the bug.

I also met Laurence Lowe, chairman of Jockmog; and Norman and his wife (with the supercharged? Plus 8) whom I met at the August Jockmog in Alford. A really great bunch. I'd encourage you all to go to a Morgan meet if you haven't already. They aren't at all as as weird as they sometimes seem in the write ups in Miscellany for example (i'll be in trouble now).

So, thanks to MSCC and RPM!

Anyone got any photos?
