Ooo.. That looks like an Opcon centrifugal supercharger to me. Very nice and should make quite a few ponies on that V8. I am fitting one to my MG C GT, not to mention EFI and some other goodies!
That will be a Sprintex supercharger, proberly fitted by Libra Motive (not sure if BHM fitted them as well), back in the late 90's, your right about the extra ponies and bags and bags of torque too. Once you've drioven one of these you have a stupid grin on your face for hours afterwards
