If I leave the car in a public place I nearly always lock the doors with the key. I have, on some occassions locked the passenger door from the inside and the driver's door with the key. If the hood is down I use the storm cover and I sometimes use the storm cover if the hood is up and I have luggage in the car. If things in the car can't be seen there is less temptation.
