Ah, sorry folks, in hindsight I should have said what the plans were, but TBH I didn't think there would be so much interest!
I suppose the clue was in the first line with "end of an era". I've remained true to my words on TM in that I always said that I wouldn't buy a new Morgan and would either keep Monte long term, or move on. I was very fortunate in my choice of Monte because he really was a smashing, well fettled car. Nonetheless, after 2.5 years we had done lots of 30-50 mile runs out on dry days around the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, a few longer trips and weekends away, and things were getting a little repetitive. The 2014 Le Mans Classic trip was a high point, but we have limited time in the UK in the summer months and with another special "fine days only" set of wheels to share the limited number of fine days in the North West, it was just time to move on.
My good lady wife of 36 years will be benefitting in the form of a three pointed star folding tin top. It's an automatic with heated seats, air scarf, parking "beep-beep" front and rear, cruise control, etc., etc., you get the idea; her choice of open top motoring.
So their you have it, Morgan box ticked on the bucket list, "con te patiṛ" as they say!
Finally I should add that I've also enjoyed my time on TM, a truly great site and resource, so I'll probably tune in from time to time to see how things are going, but promise not to post anything negative or controversial
