Things could be worse, as we are always told...

But seriously, during the last major heatwave year in France (2003, I think), I did not drive my BMW for four or five days. When I turned the key it was missing a cylinder. I lifted the bonnet and found that some ******* rats had nested there to keep cool. For amusement, I suppose, one of them had chewed through the electrical sender for the injection to one of the cylinders.

I had an e-mail discussion with my BMW dealer and attached a photo. He said that it was essential to change the whole injection unit, ie approximately 500 euros.

I drove on three cylinders to my local garage where the bloke did a "temporary fix" and charged me 20 or 30 euros. It worked perfectly for the next three years until I sold the car.

[Edit]I don't know why I have two sets of weasel images. I tried to edit one out, but failed.
